... slow and steady.
Husband is not running to the toilet every few minutes any more, not since yesterday afternoon. He still has to be careful when eating and drinking - to make sure that he does not mix flavours, such as sweet/salty, or temperatures (hot/cold), at one sitting, as that makes him puke. So he has to eat slowly, take small bites of food, take small sips of whatever drink, and then he manages to keep it in. So far, it has mostly been very simple food - rice porridge (with shredded chicken in it), crackers with a thin layer of strawberry jam, toast, hot tea, cold water. If all goes well today, we shall get a bit more adventurous tomorrow - a SANDWICH for example (gasp, shock, such excitement :-p). Hopefully get back to drinking milk by Tuesday, and might even be able to work our way to roti prata by Wednesday :-D.
The target is to get him strong enough to make the journey to Melaka on Friday, for his next chemo session. My parents will be coming with us, as they both need their eyes checked and their appointments at the hospital in KL are in FEB next year (talk about long waiting list)... whereas if they come with us to Melaka my brother can arrange for them to have their eyes checked on Friday with no delay.
My parents came by to see Husband earlier... they constantly worry about us, pray for Ken (and me :-p), and come as often as they can. Prayed WITH us, for Ken, while they were here.
This evening, two of our friends (from my days in Tokuii, in 2005) will be coming over - Efy and Sianny are a wonderful couple, and have become such beloved friends in the last few years. Sianny is cooking and they are bringing the food all the way over here so that we can have dinner together! All I am doing is cooking rice. Husband won't be able to eat what they are bringing (too strong for his stomach at this stage), but at least he gets to see them for a while, and if he gets too tired it is easy for him to go lie down in his own comfort zone! With any luck, another friend of ours from Tokuii (Molly, she was our ex-boss in Tokuii) will be able to join us too. It has been a long time since the four of us had the chance to sit and catch up with each other.
That's it for now folks. So, please continue to keep Husband in your thoughts and prayers, that he should be strong enough to make the journey to Melaka on Friday, and that he should beat the cancer.
Till next time, stay safe, stay HEALTHY!
