Sigh...

After feeling pretty good on Saturday, it has been downhill since then. On his 'wheel of life' my poor babe seems to spend more time on the down than on the up! His stomach is extremely tender (no, not bunged up, for once!) and has been since radiotherapy finished last week Tuesday. I guess it will take a few weeks for the side effects from radiotherapy to wear off, but in the meantime, Husband suffers.

He is trying his best to eat, but within 5 minutes of eating, he heads for the "little reading room", without even the energy to read :-p. According to the guys at the radiotherapy department, it will take 2 weeks for most of the side effects to wear off, though some may last up to three months. NOT a nice thought. Mind you, the full effects of the radiotherapy (not the SIDE effects) could take up to three months to manifest - which means that there IS a small possibility that the pain could diminish over the next two to three months, or at least the pain that was caused by the cancer in the bone could diminish (as opposed to the pain caused by the traumatised muscles of the gluteus maximus and minimus!).

He has lost 21kg since all this started, and is about 10kg underweight now. Most people don't realise how thin he is, as he has always been very slim in the face, hips and legs, and well cut shirts have always hidden the paunch :-p, but I can see the difference, and I think it would be fair to say that a scarecrow has more 'meat' than Husband has right now. He is so incredibly scrawny!

Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers, that the side effects of the radiotherapy will wear off QUICKLY, and that he will get stronger and better.

Till next time, stay safe, stay HEALTHY!
