Took Husband to our wonderful GP today. Her clinic is literally just round the corner from where we live (Klinik Segara, 8th floor, Mont'Kiara Plaza), and she is also a personal friend, as she and one of my cousins studied medicine together (YEARS ago) and I have known her since then. Believe me, when I first found out in 2005 that she was the doctor at that clinic, I was most pleased :-D.
Anyway, she figured, since Husband had the trots so bad all last week, that all the good bacteria in his system must have been completely flushed out, so she gave him probiotic capsules, which are like highly concentrated "good" bacteria, specifically for the gastro-intestinal system. She also prescribed some cream with antibiotics in it, for the inflamed skin. So, got home, got Husband to take two of the capsules, and rub in the cream, and within 2 hours... MAN, talk about a difference! He was looking so much better - not so wracked with pain, a lot calmer, more able to relax. Might still take 2 - 3 days to heal up completely, but it is a good start. We need to also decide, by Wed, whether or not Husband is in any state to make the drive to Melaka on Friday. Fingers crossed that he can, as neither of us like the idea of postponing the chemo, but.. needs must!
Now I only pray that something ELSE doesn't come along and knock him back 10 steps again!! That is what it feels like most of the time - he gets better, takes 2 steps forward, towards feeling better again, and then something else will just kick his legs out from under him and push him 10 steps back.
Most people, even good friends who know him well, looking at him, won't realise how much weight he has lost... but his shorts have to be cinched really tight at the waist or they WILL fall off, you can literally count his ribs, and play piano on them! His legs and arms are like matchsticks, compared to what they were before! If you look just at his face, then he looks as handsome as ever, and as young as ever - and that isn't just in my eyes only :-D
So, that's the latest. Please continue to keep Husband in your thoughts and prayers, and, till next time, stay safe, stay HEALTHY!
