A clean "semi-"colon

A complete colonoscopy was carried out on Husband today, and his colon has been pronounced nice and 'clean', and healthy looking, with no radiation burns, etc. The doc has taken some small tissue samples from the colon, to run some tests (biopsy) on them. We should get the results by later today. Mind you, I wonder why it is that everyone always checks the colon (aka the large intestine) but nobody seems to think about checking the small intestine. Why is that?

Another piece of good news is that, for the first time in more than a week, Husband had a fairly substantial lunch - Hainanese chicken rice and, though he only managed to eat half of it, it was still a pretty good attempt.

Even though this is somewhat reassuring to us, the fact remains that it is going to take time for Husband to get stronger, for his stomach to normalise, for the antibiotics to fully work, for his appetite to come back, and for him to eat normally without having to run for the toilet after every meal. And this is all without taking into account his ongoing fight with cancer! His chemo has been postponed to 1st week Dec - I will see how he is next week and then, if he is strong enough to make the drive, will make an appointment for him.

So, in the meantime, please continue to keep Husband in your thoughts and prayers, that he may continue to get stronger and better each day.... so that I can take him HOME to his own comfortable environment!

And, till next time, stay safe, stay HEALTHY!
