Status after 2 days of not taking the chemo pills

Well, No, it is not good news yet. I think the build-up of the UFT/FA combination in Husband's system is going to take several days to flush out. He still has most of the side effects though they have diminished slightly - the tingling of hands and feet is still there; his eyes and mouth still sometimes feel frozen and immovable; he still has the "trots", though less frequent now; he still has breathing difficulties, though he does not feel like he has been encased in concrete(!).

Overall the intensity or frequency of these side effects HAS diminished slightly, but it will definitely take more time before he even starts feeling half-way normal (whatever "normal" may be!).

I hope he will be feeling a little better by Saturday, as we have two of our very good friends, Tony and HP, driving up from SG. Tony is testing his brand new car on its first long-distance drive :-D, while HP is coming along for the drive, to keep him awake, as they are leaving SG at 5.30am at latest! We are both looking forward to having their company this weekend!

Saturday night we have a few of our other KL based friends coming over as well, and we are having a pot-luck dinner (Yes, as you all know, cooking is NOT my favourite occupation :-D) - Efy/Sianny (bringing home-made cookies for dessert, and 2 pizzas for dinner); Molly (bringing mee hoon goreng (aka fried vermicelli), and one other dish); Me frying up home made beef/potato bergedil (cutlets), and ordering roti pratha and fried chicken from Bestari at Mont'Kiara Plaza (as Husband loves the fried chicken there); and Jon coming to help us finish all this!! And if Husband can't eat any of that, then he gets his favourite chicken rice porridge :-D while we eat everything else.

Husband also needs to be strong enough by next week (17th July) to drive to Melaka for his next appointment with the oncologist and his next round of chemo! So keep him in your thoughts and prayers that he keeps recovering from the side effects and gets back to being his normal self, and gains the strength for the drive next week.

Till next time, stay safe, stay HEALTHY.
