It has been 3 days since chemo #7, so time to see where we are in terms of side-effects. Bear in mind that the Camptosar (Irinotecan) administered intravenously on Friday was a slightly reduced dosage, so let's see if that made a difference.
So, previous round, worst side effect was diarrhoea - and it had been atrociously bad. This round... nope!!! NO diarrhoea at all. This could almost be cause for celebration! Husband is much better this time round. Very mild nausea, no trots at all. The only thing he has now (and this is new for him!) is that he has liquid retention and his poor feet sometimes look like fully puffed puffer fish.. I asked him to stop drinking fizzy drinks (as they aggravate liquid retention) and concentrate more on just water, and tea (since that is a diuretic). Of course, Husband being Husband, his idea of 'water', is 'water with Ribena Light diluted into it'... sigh... Plain water drinker, he is NOT!
He has put back all the weight he lost due to diarrhoea, and MORE! In fact, from an incredible low of 68kg, he has now put on TEN (Yes, I said TEN) kg!! All in 10 days. Phew... :-p
As for me, my flu is pretty much gone - just a little bit of a cough left. So, tomorrow, I am heading back to my doctor, to get a flu shot, cos I can vouch for the fact that it DID work for one whole year. Also have to go post a letter, then go to Armanee DD to pay the management fees et al for the condo unit we own in that complex (I wish we could sell it.. then I can drop at least one item from my list of things to worry about!). Also have to take my little Sera to the service centre - they supposedly fixed my aircon last time I took it in, but it is back to not working again... aaaarrrgggghhhhhh!
Tony and HP should (fingers crossed) be back this weekend... and since this will be their second drive, they will definitely find it much easier. Especially now that we know that the Garmin system works wonderfully even in convoluted KL!
So, folks, that is all the excitement for now. Keep Husband in your thoughts and prayers, and, till next time, stay safe, stay HEALTHY.
