.. and it has been mostly up since my last posting on Thursday last week. Yes, Husband still has a lot of pain, but he has been able to withstand the pain fairly OK for the last few days. I guess it is a matter of "mind over matter", and this week "mind" is the winner. Some days the "mind" loses, but if it loses in one day out of ten, then it is still the overall winner :-).
Nothing exciting has happened since the last posting, but for some reason every day has been fairly busy. For one thing, I have been cooking every single day - and, for those of you who know me well, I can almost hear you all laughing your heads off because I HATE COOKING! Sigh.... Yes, wake up early, get Husband up before 8am, so he can have his breakfast and follow that with his chemo medication and painkillers. Then he goes and lies down until the painkillers actually kick in, and while he does that, I get into doing 'exciting' things like laundry, ironing, super-marketing, bill payments and filing, sorting things out with the contractors (last minute things at home!!), wet-marketing (on Sundays) and figuring out what to cook for the day! By the time these various items are sorted and lunch ready and eaten, it is usually 2pm already - by which time I figure I deserve to sit down and read before I have to sort out tea (followed by more meds for Husband) and then dinner (and more meds for Husband). So, just to say it again.. I HATE COOKING.. and I can't WAIT for Husband to be well enough and strong enough to take over cooking again - as HE LOVES COOKING (and he is a VERY good cook too!).
Thursday afternoon we head for Melaka... as Husband's chemo on Friday is scheduled for 8.30am, and we have to get to the blood centre by 8am for them to take 3 tubes of his blood to run the usual tests. When chemo is over there will be time for Husband to eat lunch and take his painkillers before we head to Singapore (instead of heading back to KL as we normally do). So, why Singapore? Because we still have a couple of official errands to run there, and we figured since we will already be in Melaka this Friday - which is halfway to SG from KL - we might as well just continue on to SG. So, we arrive there on Friday, spend the weekend there catching up with friends and ex-colleagues of Husbands whom he has not seen since this whole thing started in Feb(!!!), run our errands on Monday (hopefully one day is sufficient), then leave SG on Tuesday morning (maybe stopping at Husband's office in Jurong on the way out of SG) and take a slow drive back to KL.
So, pray for us that Husband's "mind" continues to win out over the pain in his "matter" and that he continues to gain in strength each day.
Till next time, stay safe, STAY HEALTHY!
