Mid December ALREADY????

It just boggles my mind (yet again) how fast time zips past. My last post was almost 3 weeks ago and I have to keep reminding myself to update it - and I keep forgetting! Hmmmm, must be a symptom of encroaching age I guess - I don't FEEL old. Well, let me rephrase that - my mind doesn't feel like it is getting old, but my body is finding it harder to keep up with my mind. The aches and pains that never used to happen in my younger years, are now here to stay. Sigh... getting older is a bummer!

So, what's been happening in the last three weeks? Well, my Mum is slowly, slowly, slowly getting better. Eating better. Getting through her physio sessions better, without feeling like collapsing after the session. Better able to handle visitors. Surprisingly - when my Dad had his bypass (November 2007!), he took longer to recover while he was IN the hospital, but once he came out, he just improved in leaps and bounds. With my Mum, she recovered faster in the hospital - came out of ICU in record time! - but once home, she is taking far longer to recover.

I have now been exactly 4 weeks at this new job. Getting more new things thrown my way every couple of days. Definitely cannot say it has been boring - but, to answer one friends question - it hasn't been stressful either. I guess that is also because it is the year end. The end-client is a financial institution, and like all such organisations, year-end is PEAK period for them for all kinds of financial transactions by their customers.... soooooo, ALL system changes, and code changes are frozen till we are past that peak. This is, of course, good news for me, as that means there is little likelihood of midnight calls. Not completely impossible, but at least not likely to happen every week.

Next weekend (20/21 Dec) Husband and I will have the pleasure of having my bro (A) and my lovely sis-in-law (P) and the younger 2 of their three kids (R & A) down from Melaka for a break. (Kid #1 is in Moscow - she is in 2nd year medicine. I still cant believe I have a niece who is old enough to be in Uni!!!!). Then on 23 Dec, Husband and I will be driving up to KL, on 24th, we drive back down to Melaka, with my parents, to spend Xmas with my bro and sis-in-law. Then back to KL on 25th, just to relax for a few days, and then back again to SG on 28th. I will still be on call to the client - so am keeping fingers crossed that nothing untoward happens during that time frame.

So, everyone, since my next post is most likely gonna be either after Xmas OR after the New Year I just want to take this opportunity to wish all of you, near and far, family and friends, and all YOUR family and friends too, A VERY BLESSED and JOYOUS CHRISTMAS - and a TRULY WONDERFUL NEW YEAR. I hope 2009 will be a year full of blessings for all. Till next time....

Wishing you a very Happy X'mas - I hope you don't get pulled in to the client calls.

With best regards,

Hi Eugene, I am afraid the Sera is not for sale, and, even if I DO decide to sell it, I already have one buyer waiting in the "queue".....
