Half the year is gone

... where on earth did the first half of the year disappear to? Time zips by faster than light sometimes :-p

Most exciting thing that has happened to us - we got our Singapore PR approved and are now officially PRs in Singapore. Why oh why can't my own country (Malaysia, in case you didn't know) be as efficient and clear and transparent as Singapore in all matters pertaining to immigration? I am a Malaysian, I want to live in Malaysia with my husband who happens to be British. We have already invested more than RM2million in properties in Malaysia..... BUT, getting a long-term visa for him is IMPOSSIBLE!!! I cant even get him a long-term social visit pass - only 1 year at a time at the most! For a short time, when the 5-year social visit pass was introduced under the Spouse Programme, I had high hopes of getting that for Husband. Went to the immigration office, spoke to the officer in charge of the Spouse Programme, and was told that since I am not a Malaysian GUY applying for his foreign WIFE, I cannot get it!! Talk about CHAUVINISTIC. I am incredibly and horribly disappointed in my own country. What else can I say?

SO, we are in Singapore, we are both working here, and within ONE MONTH OF APPLICATION, we have a 5-year PR status in this country.

We are not free-loaders, we have money to invest, both of us earn decent money and pay our taxes... All we wanted was to be able to live in Malaysia in peace, spend our money there, and just enjoy the country... and we cant do that. So, we are looking to sell 2 out of 3 properties in Malaysia as we have no interest now in living there any more (not unless they can sort out their visa issues for foreign spouses - regardless of gender or race or religion - who want to live there!!)

Anyone want to buy a beautiful 2735 sq ft condo unit in Mont'Kiara, high floor, complete privacy as nobody can see into the unit, fantastic facilities, great management, etc? Keys delivered Feb this year, no issues with it, no renovations done so it is ready for YOU to do what you want to do, and only going at RM750/sq ft (slightly negotiable). Want to find out more? Drop me a comment and we can take it from there.

Till next time....

I think you should send this piece to the editorials in The Star, Malay Mail,NST, The Sun to highlight not just your problem but I'm sure of countless others too. Doubt they will print it, but it's worth a shot. You never know.. with the new people in govt..
