Phew!!

Yep, this week has been a bit of an overload. Daily meetings starting first thing in the morning and lasting through till evening, with rather frustrating results every day. Sigh... I HATE meetings that drag out like that and end up with no coherent, usable results, and a lot of frustration as well.

Never mind, it is finite... and I still have a great bunch of people that I work with. My boss is here for three week from the Netherlands, which is good too, and a lot of paperwork to keep up with.

Our house in KL got broken into - but thank GOD my parents were A-OK - other than the shock to the system to know that someone was walking around the house while they were sleeping. Such a violation of privacy! Did we lose anything. Yes, I guess so - one watch (not worth much), a whole lot of junk jewellery (not worth anything), and a 4+ year old 40" plasma TV - but the idiots took the TV without the set-top receiver box so they have a TV that they wont be able to get working. There was no physical sign of a break in, and the front door was still locked and bolted, and our contractor (an OLD friend) confirmed that there was no break in via the roof - as we had changed the roof to remove the tiles and replace with ColorBond which is literally screwed/nailed onto the frame, so you cant just lift it and get in. My folks got the police in, and the cops apparently said that on the front french window grilles, there was one missing grille bar (which has been missing for some time), and apparently it is big enough for a slim adult to get through. And, to make it easier, the french windows themselves are usually left unlocked because it is difficult to lock them. So, it IS possible that the windows were pushed open (they are quiet), and someone got in via the gap in the grille.... took the TV, walked out through the front door, went back in, locked the front door, and went back out through the grille, sliding the windows shut. THEORETICALLY possible....

Anyway, all locks throughout the house have been changed, the grille fixed... and hopefully there will be no repeat. Hmmm, must see if I can persuade my parents to move out of the house to a secure condo - easier for them to manage than that TOO large house, and far safer too!

Have a good life everyone!
