... and, as I am sure most people will agree, the concept of SLOW improvement is not generally accepted by most men. They seem to think that the minute they start exercising (after weeks or months of being a couch potato), or the minute they get out of hospital and get home (after 3 weeks of extreme trots) that they SHOULD GET BETTER! They don't seem to realise that it took a helluva lot of time to get as unfit, or as sick, as they were, and, guess what, it is going to take a LOT OF TIME to get back to some level of fitness or wellness... sigh...
Well, that describes Husband at the moment. We have been home since Wednesday afternoon, he has been pretty good about eating and drinking, but he still thinks he should be stronger NOW NOW NOW!! He just cannot accept that it is going to take days, possibly weeks, to build up his strength.
He has put back most of the 'water weight' that he lost over the last few weeks - he is now back up to 70kg. Now I have to see what I can do to bring his weight back up to at least 76kg - slowly, and steadily....
This coming Sunday we are having a family get-together lunch, at my parents place, to celebrate three birthdays - mine (13th), my brother-in-laws (17th), my brothers (19th). In fact, my brother hits the big 5-0, though it is hard to believe that any of us is old enough to be FIFTY!!! I mean, when DID we get older?
OK folks, that was the quick update of the day. Please continue to keep Husband in your thoughts and prayers and, till next time, stay safe, stay HEALTHY!
