New year? Yes. New life? Nah!

Nope... still the same old, same old. Up early in the morning (groan!), go to work, come home, spend some time with Husband, some time surfing/emailing/chatting, makan, sleep. Next day, repeat cycle... till Saturday comes, when we actually get to sleep in a little. Mind you, I am enjoying work (!) which really makes a pleasant change. The job evolves all the time - the only limit in the end will be my own capability and flexibility, which basically means there IS no limit :-D. Yeah, yeah, blowing my own trumpet, but if I don't do it, who will? (Having said that, be prepared for a surprise notice in this blog by end-Feb :-D ).

Husband is trying very hard to retire, but still goes to work minimum 2 days a week, and if by next week his company confirms that they are actually starting a new project then he is back into full time work again! At least he doesn't have to drag himself out of bed early EVERY day, so that is good.

My Mum is still on the road to recovery after her bypass, though she is not recovering as fast as my Dad did, and seems to feel the pain a lot more. Still, she IS getting better, and that is the main thing. No maid any more - the last one we had just drove both my parents crazy because she was SOOOO slow, and totally was not able to follow through even on simple instructions. If she had stayed on, I think my Mum woudl have had a relapse out of sheer frustration :-p. So, my sister's maid helps out a couple of days a week, my Dad does what he can, and, luckily, finding food to eat in KL is never a problem, so they don't go hungry. Our next trip back will only be after Chinese New Year, probably try and get there the weekend before my Mum's birthday. Difficult to take leave, as I am still too new into the job, but at least a weekend in KL is do-able.

Hope everyone is recovering after all the Xmas and New Year parties, and that life is slowly settling back onto an even keel. For those of us who are in countries that celebrate Chinese New Year - we have a nice 4-day weekend to look forward to at the end of this month. Lovely!

Till next time.. have a good life.
