It has been a tiring month... and will continue to be tiring for at least the coming week.
I am in KL right now - came back yesterday (Friday) evening, so that I could be present at Armanee Damansara Damai meeting to elect the Joint Management Committee members. The lead-up to that saw lots of emails (some heated, some furious, some with calming messages, some frustrated, etc), forum messages (with the same range of emotions as the emails), meetings, planning sessions, etc, etc, etc. Knowing I wont be in KL to participate as a member of the committee I did try not to interfere too much... but I HAD to be there for the meeting that took place today! All the people we nominated got into the committee YIPPEEEEEE... Now, it is up to all of us, the owners of units at Armanee DD, to support the committee to get ADD to where it SHOULD BE - a coveted and envied residence. I have every confidence that the new committee will be up to the task, but they WILL need everyones support.
I have meetings in Cyberjaya and KL on Monday / Tuesday, and meeting some friends for dinner on Monday night, and Tuesday night. I will be heading back to SG on Wednesday morning, driving first to JB with my colleague (M) and her husband (M1), as her husband has to be in JB for a meeting. From there M & I will hop a taxi across to SG. M will stay with me for a couple of days till her husband comes across to SG, then they are both hopping off to another friends house.
On either Sat or Sun (2nd or 3rd Feb) Husband and I will be heading back to KL - Husband is going to take 4th/5th Feb off, his company has an off day on 6th, and it is Chinese New Year on 7th/8th, followed by the weekend. So we figure we will spend at least 3rd-6th Feb in KL, then head back to SG on either 6th or 7th, so that we dont get stuck in a humungous traffic jam on 10th Feb struggling to get back to SG!!!! Of course, that means we have to celebrate my Mum's birthday (Feb 10th) early, but that is OK.
What other news is there? Well, I will be handing in my notice next week - and I have already worked with my boss to find the right person to replace me, and am happy to report that my boss liked my replacement as much as I do (my replacement is a good friend of mine, ideal for the job - and brings more energy to the job as he is quite a lot younger than me :-D ). So, THAT is settled, so I dont feel guilty about leaving - my last day with the company will be end Feb. I am heading back to SG to be with Husband, as we both get awfully grumpy when we are away from each other (doesnt mean we dont get grumpy when we are together, but it is a different type of grumpy!) This time though, I refuse to be a tai-tai. Tried that once, and it drove me nuts! So, have to look for a job once I am in SG. Fingers crossed, and wish me luck.
Dad is much much better, except that he has picked up a flu, and, like most men when they have the flu, he is a TERRIBLE patient - tries my poor Mum's patience no end. It's so ironic really - he was such a fantastic patient following the triple bypass op, which was such a major op, and yet he is a totally TERRIBLE patient when all he has is the flu. Go figure :-p
So what else has been happening? Hmmm, not a lot. Like Husband says --> "Work interferes with my lifestyle." :-D In SG we went to Harry's Bar at the Esplanade, to listen to an old friend of mine - Paul Ponnudorai - play there. He is such an amazing musician, and it is a pity that we lost him to Singapore - but then, Malaysia's loss is Singapore's gain, and since I will be living in SG again soon, well it is my gain too! During the CNY, on the 2nd day, we are going to have a get together at Tanjung Beach on Sentosa Island. It is a lovely quiet little beach, off the beaten track, so it never gets crowded like the other beaches on Sentosa do. The water is not CLEAR, but it IS clean.
That's it folks.. till next time, have a gooooooood life, and to all my Chinese friends, GONG XI FA CAI, KONG HEE FATT CHOY.
