This morning was scary! Husband felt like he had been encased in concrete and couldn't breathe. His hands were weak and shaky, with constant tingling (like a bad case of pins and needles), couldn't open his mouth and eyes properly. Couldn't lie down, cos then he couldn't breathe. Couldn't sit up and couldn't walk, cos he didn't have the strength to do either. Talk about having no options!
Some research on the web tells me that "hand paresis" and "parasthesia" are, apparently, two of the side effects of UFT. Supposedly all reversible once the UFT is out of the system, but nonetheless SCARY. I guess doctors can't really tell you ALL the side effects of the chemo - there are just too many to name them all, but since chemo affects different people in different ways, what the doctors do is tell you the side effects that occur in the majority of patients, and just hope that you are not in the minority which is affected by OTHER side effects. Unfortunately, Husband seems to be in the minority - and probably in the minority amongst the minority! God only knows what other side effects are going to hit him in the next few weeks.
Keep him in your thoughts, that he should not get any further weird side effects, and that he has the strength to handle the side effects he already has!
And, before I forget, I want to wish James and Winnie all the best in their life together. I was hoping to go for their church wedding this morning, but with Ken feeling this way, I know I am not going to be able to make it!
James and Winnie, Today is your wedding day, and my prayer for you two is that the happiness you feel today will spill over into all your tomorrows, and that it will take you through all the difficult times ahead. May God bless you and keep you, and be a safe harbour for you all your lives.
Till next time, stay safe, stay HEALTHY!

HUGS for you and Ken...
Wish I could visit and be of some help to the two of you, but you're in my prayers.
